Gifts to the Fiske Center support the UMass Boston commitment to teaching, research, and service, around Boston, in the State of Massachusetts, and in New England. Your gifts foster graduate student research and help ensure that Historical Archaeology at UMass Boston remains accessible and affordable while maintaining high quality scholarship.

UMass Boston is the city's only public university. As a public asset, the University is owned and operated by the people of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. However, support for UMass Boston comes from a variety of sources which all shares a belief that UMass Boston should remain a premier research university with a teaching soul. With your help, the Fiske Center will continue to be an important step for students to research and celebrate the complex archaeology of the region.

Donations to the Fiske Center can be made either to our student scholarship fund or to the Fiske Center Endowment. Donations to either fund in any amount further our mission and are greatly appreciated.

Andrew Fiske Memorial Center for Archaeological Research Student Scholarship Fund
The Andrew Fiske Memorial Center for Archaeological Research creates educational opportunities for students on archaeological excavation and laboratory analysis projects. Through participation in Center projects students learn the process of archaeological research, often gaining specific experience with applied projects in public settings. Students make use of this knowledge in their own research through independent study classes and undergraduate Honors and graduate Master’s theses directed by Center staff. The Center also directly supports student scholarship through paid assistantships and small grants for professional development.
