The Far Traveler Voyages of a Viking Woman
Nancy Marie Brown, is a freelance author who mostly writes about science. The Far Traveler is her thirdbook and it describes the adventures of Gudrid, one of the most remarkable Viking Age women. Gudrid, according to the Icelandic sagas, sailed to the New World and back. John M. Steinberg, a senior scientist at the Fiske Center for Archaeology at UMass Boston will also talk a little about his excavations at Glumbaer in Northern Iceland,which could be the farmstead of Gudrid.
